Zachary Orvud's Statistics
Zachary has a slim build and is a little short for his age, easily recognized by his freckles and bright blue eyes behind his glasses. He wears a black shirt with a purple lowercase B on the front which is a nod to his home town of Burlington. Most of his clothing is in similar fashion and colors either black or neon blue with white and unlike his brother, is frequently seen wearing shorts. The arm band he wears is of his own design and can project a holographic laptop with interface whenever he needs it, though seldom does so in public.
Zachary is the somewhat shy and timid younger brother of Alex, who has long held an interest in technology including everything from gadgetry to computer hacking. Even at a very young age he has been known to have a seriously scientific mind, never believing in the paranormal or anything that can't be defined by logic. As a result, he was the target of a great deal of bullying even after being removed from public pre-school and being taught at home by his mother. His friends and family often say that his brain works like a supercomputer, as he's able to recalculate certain pieces of his original plan the instant something starts going wrong. However, he finds himself relying on Alex for this as well, since even the best strategies can fail and the only way to take the enemy by surprise is to use his big brother's reckless behavior against them. When it comes to computer hacking, there's no one better and he'll have no problem telling you that himself. He's a bit cocky with his own work but never resorts to demeaning his friends over it, though his enemies don't get the same treatment.
Skills & Abilities
Zachary is able to break through most any barrier in a system's security set up within record timing, provided he's left alone to concentrate on this work.
All of the gadgets used by himself, Alex and Trina are of his creation. One of which, the Stun Glove, was created as a joint project between him and his mother, Valerie.
Advanced Tactical Operations:
Like his brother, Zachary is able to create tactical plans but on a much higher level. Using his gear, he's able to grab blueprints of a building or schematics of an airplane or ship in order to use them to their full advantage. He frequently sees it all as a game, putting himself in the enemies' shoes in order to get a feel for how they would react to certain situations and takes these variables into heavy consideration.
Phillip Orvud: Zachary and his father aren't incredibly close due to the fact he focused more on the physical aspect of secret missions instead of the tactical portion. That being said, they do have a very good relationship.
Valerie Orvud: He and his mother spend a great deal of time together, crafting gadgets and making up tactical plans just for fun. Zachary is seen as being closer to his mother for this reason, but the family overall is very tight-knit.
Alex Orvud: Brothers and best friends, he covers Alex where technology fails him and in return, Alex protects Zachary when the physical strenth portion of missions come into play.
Trina Niles: They're not very close and Zachary loathes the idea of Trina attempting to make friends with him, as she "always does weird stuff" according to Zachary. Perhaps working together on a common goal will better their relationship, but only time will tell.
According to the series creator, Zachary was not part of the original series at all until the first season was re-written for the first time a few weeks after it was first created.
The holographic laptop he uses is built into the hi-tech glove he created, allowing him to look at his transparent screen and work on something behind it while easily following a schematic or plan.
During an interview in Ukraine, Ryan has stated that the reason Zachary and Trina don't have a perfect friendship is because of the same reason he and a girl in Kindergarten did not stay friends. It is hinted that the story behind this will be revealed in Book 2.
